A K-ETA is valid for 3 years and covers multiple entries, so short trips out of Korea and back do not require a new application. Each entry is assessed on its own, and the officer sets the permitted stay again.
What does not reset
- The visa-waiver arrangement itself — you cannot use repeated entries to turn a 30-day arrangement into permanent residence
- Your K-ETA validity — it still expires on its original date
- The record of how you have been using it
Repeat visits attract questions
Korea, like most countries, treats visa-waiver entry as being for visits. A pattern of leaving for a few days and returning each time your stay runs out is visible in the system, and an officer can refuse entry even with a valid K-ETA.
What to have ready on re-entry
- An onward or return ticket
- Your accommodation address in Korea
- Something showing you are going home: work, study, family

If you are currently exempt from the K-ETA (until 31 December 2026), you do not need one for these trips at all. Check your eligibility before paying anything.
